Using the backup/restore feature in Talend Data Catalog

This backup process is used for support purposes, to deliver demos or tutorials, to reproduce a production environment in a demo or QA environment or to migrate to a new type of database such as PostgreSQL to Oracle.

Talend Data Catalog stores all the data in the database (RDBMS).

The backup/restore feature implemented in Talend Data Catalog does not replace the full database backup and restore because it does not contain critical administration data, such as logs. This process cannot be used to migrate or upgrade Talend Data Catalog. For more information, see Upgrading Talend Data Catalog.
