Configuring a data class to hide data

Protect sensitive data by configuring a data class to hide data from unauthorized users.

You need to assign a sensitivity label configured to mask data to a data class.

Before you begin

  • You have been assigned a global role with the Application Administration capability.
  • The data sampling and profiling have been enabled and configured during the metadata import.

Procedure

  1. Go to MANAGE > Data Classes.
  2. Select a data class to edit its properties.
  3. Select a sensitivity label configured to hide data.
  4. Save your changes.
The profile and sample data of any object associated with this data class is automatically hidden.
When the Data Hide attribute of an imported object is set to True, it ignores the Data Hide flag of its sensitivity label.
