Introduction
The Big Data Platform builds on the Data Management Platform by adding the ability to implement and execute jobs that execute on Big Data Clusters and also connect to Big Data technologies from standard Data Integration jobs.

- We use the term 'edge node' to simply denote a machine that has access to a big data cluster. The exact form varies depends on the big data cluster technology.
