Configuring component and component update sharing

Through the Project Settings dialog box, you can configure whether to allow your Talend Studio to automatically share new components or component updates, and set preferences for detecting new components or component updates provided by Talend.

Before you begin

Make sure you are connected to a remote project.

Procedure

  1. On the toolbar of the Studio main window, click or click File > Edit Project Properties from the menu bar to open the Project Settings dialog box.
  2. In the tree view of the dialog box, select Repository Share to open the corresponding view.
  3. Complete settings according to your needs:
    • Define the Repository ID for component sharing and select the Propagate components update to Artifact Repository check box to allow your Talend Studio to share new components or component updates.

To verify the connection with Talend Artifact Repository configured in Talend Administration Center, click the Check connection button.

With this setting, whenever you install a component or component update through the Component Manager, Talend Studio will automatically share it to users who are connected to the same remote project as yours.

    • Select the Show warning dialog when installing component check box to show a warning dialog when you install a new component or component update through the Component Manager.
    • Select the Check updates automatically check box and specify how often (in days) you want your Talend Studio to check for new components and component updates.

To check for new components and component updates every time your launch the Studio, fill the field with 0.

  4. Click Appy and Close to validate the settings and close the dialogue box.
