Introduction to a license audit
In terms of Talend licensing, this article concerns Named and Concurrent users, the differences between which are outlined below.
A named user is a unique specific person identified by a valid email address. Named users can work across multiple Talend Administration Center instances.
A concurrent user is a specific person identified by a valid email address. Concurrent users are per Talend Administration Center instance. Customers are licensed to only have a specific number of concurrent users active at any time, for a given repository. For example, a customer who buys five Concurrent Licenses for REPO-1 can have ten people registered, but only five active at a time.
A license audit in Talend Administration Center will allow you to:
- Check whether you are compliant with your licence, that you have not exceeded the number of users and your current licence is satisfactory for you needs, and whether you need additions to or a licence extension.
- Check whether you are underusing your licence, and to ensure we maximise your usage of the Talend software suite.
